Parent letter
Aimed at parents of children in Years 3–11 (KS1 reception through GCSE). It introduces the service, explains the free-forever tier, and gives a parent a single QR code to reach the sign-up page. Designed to slot into a beginning-of-term pack, a parents’ evening handout, or a homework folder.
KS2 SATs practice pack (Paper 1 Arithmetic)
Matches the format of KS2 SATs Mathematics Paper 1 Arithmetic: 30 minutes, 40 marks, approximately 36 questions, no calculator. Covers number and place value, the four operations, fractions, decimals and percentages, to the end-of-KS2 standard. Useful for Year 6 practice sessions or as a Year 5 stretch task.
Papers 2 and 3 (Reasoning) are not included in this release. We may add them in a later version.
Why we made these
No sign-up
Download and print. Nothing to create, no email to hand over, no follow-up marketing emails.
No pupil tracking
The PDFs are plain static files. They do not contain trackers, pixels, or unique URLs per download.
Hand-crafted
Every SATs-style question is written from scratch and verified symbolically before publication. We do not reuse DfE past papers.
Print-friendly
Designed for a mono photocopier: black-ink text, no dark backgrounds, no colour-only meaning. A4 with 15mm margins.
Safeguarding & data
These PDFs do not collect any data. Downloading one does not sign you up to anything, and we do not track which schools have downloaded them. If a parent scans the QR code in the parent letter, they arrive at the public MathsTutor.me sign-up page tagged ?ref=school-letter, and any subsequent account they create is between the parent and MathsTutor.me — the school is not named or involved.
For how MathsTutor.me handles personal data in general, see our privacy policy.
Disclaimer: MathsTutor.me is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Department for Education, the Standards & Testing Agency, any UK examination board, or any individual school. “KS2 SATs-style” means we follow the published format and standard; the questions themselves are hand-written by us.
FAQ
Are these really free?
Yes. Free to download, free to print, free to share with your class or parent community. There is no paywall, no trial expiry, and no email gate.
Can I share the parent letter with my parents?
Yes — that’s exactly what it’s for. Put it in a parents’ evening pack, homework folder, or beginning-of-term letter. You’re welcome to add your school letterhead above the content; we designed it school-agnostic on purpose.
Will MathsTutor.me track which of my pupils sign up?
No. The QR code on the parent letter tags new accounts with ?ref=school-letter so we know the letter reached a parent, but the tag is not tied to your school or class. We have no way to associate a sign-up with a specific school, teacher, or pupil.
What key stages do these resources cover?
The parent letter is audience-agnostic and works for parents of children from KS1 through GCSE. The SATs practice pack is KS2 (Year 6) specifically, in the Paper 1 Arithmetic format.
Can I modify the PDFs?
You are welcome to print them and photocopy them as-is. We ask that you do not redistribute altered versions, because we keep the content verified and up-to-date here — an altered copy drifts out of sync. If something is wrong or could be improved, please tell us at the address below.
Are Papers 2 and 3 available?
Not yet. The current release is Paper 1 (Arithmetic) only. We may add Papers 2 and 3 (Reasoning) in a later version.
